Sunday 4th November is the date for this year’s West Kent CTC Hill Climb.

Venue: Old Polhill. This runs from the Pilgrims Way at the bottom to the junction of Otford Lane and the A224 at the top, next to the old Polhill Arms (Now a furniture shop).

Time: 11.00am start, until the last person off, usually about midday.

Entries on the line, price £1.00.

Entries from all cyclists and cycling clubs welcome.

The Martin Davis trophy is awarded to the fastest West Kent rider.

The hill, as the name suggests, is the old Polhill and is now closed to motor traffic, making it entirely safe to ride.

The day before the event the organisers sweep, blow and shovel the entire course to ensure the riders have a good surface.

Refreshments will be provided.

The age of entries ranges from 8 to 88, men and women, boys and girls and is primarily a bit of lung expanding fun and a great opportunity to meet up with old friends and make new ones. There is a cunningly planned handicap system which means that account is taken for age, both older and younger.

If you have yet to join us, please come along and you will be more than welcome.

Hope to see you there.

Peter Ashlee (Organiser).
